On March 21, 1919 by Walter Gropius founded the Bauhaus in Weimar. The ambition of this university was to revive the craft again. As an art back then was referred to the reproduction of historical styles. It should last no copies in the Bauhaus style, but new styles are created, which were the industrial manufacturing process requirements.
1924 changed the political situation in Weimar and the Bauhaus came under extreme pressure. 1925 moved the Bauhaus in Dessau. Walter Gropius came back in 1928 as director of the Bauhaus. He was succeeded by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. After the National Socialists in 1931 in Dessau, the Bauhaus came to power in 1932 had to move again. After a Year in Berlin, the Bauhaus in 1933 forced by the Nazis for the resolution.
